On february 27th, 2010, the people of Chile went through and still endures the consequences of one of the worse earthquakes in human History.

In front of this situation, the design community can't remain indifferent. That's how Design for Chile is born.

The objective of Design for Chile is, at a first level, to raise funds to be donated to entities that are helping rebuild the country, and also, to unify the different actions and initiatives being made by the design world for Chile.

At this very moment our staff is contacting different designers and groups, both national and international, asking for their support and the donation of custom made prints that will be sold in our website. After that, all profits will be donated to help Chile in the best way possible.

As a final phase of our project, Design for Chile is putting together an exhibition (date to be confirmed), where all donated pieces will be displayed alongside several chilean design objects and a constant fund raise will be held.

Also, since we understand that many will want to take part in our project, we will hold an international open call for posters. All pieces submitted will take part in our exhibition, however, 15 of them will be chosen and added to our international store, side by side with all of our guests. El 27 de Febrero de 2010, la gente de Chile atravesó y sigue viviendo las consecuencias de uno de los peores terremotos en su Historia.

Frente a esta situación, la comunidad de diseñadores no puede mantenerse al margen. Es así como nace Diseño por Chile.

El objetivo de Diseño por Chile es en primera instancia reunir fondos para donar a distintas entidades que estén ayudando a levantar el país, y además, funcionar como ente unificador de las distintas acciones e iniciativas en el mundo del diseño que se están llevando por Chile.

En este minuto nuestro staff se encuentra en conversaciones con distintos diseñadores y grupos, nacionales e internacionales, pidiendo apoyo y diversas piezas de diseño que más adelante seran puestas a la venta a través de nuestro sitio. Posteriormente todos los fondos recaudados irán a las distintas organizaciones que hacen lo posible por ayudar a Chile de la mejor manera.

Como fase cúlmine del proyecto, Diseño por Chile está organizando una exposición (con fecha por confirmar), donde se exhibirán todas las piezas y por supuesto habrá una recaudación de fondos constante.

Además, como entendemos que existen muchas personas que querrán participar en nuestro proyecto, hemos abierto una convocatoria internacional de afiches. Todas las piezas recibidas serán exhibidas, sin embargo se elegirán 15 que se sumarán a nuestra venta internacional, lado a lado con las piezas donadas por nuestros invitados.
